Well my last semester of college has arrived. Can you say lack of desire to do anything college related?
I have one class that makes me laugh. Every other class is...meh... Nothing keeps me interested enough. Here are some quotes from the one class that rocks - Be fore warned these may be offensive... Wait no - these will totally offend someone...
9/2 MVL 241 Memorable Quotes:
In regards to the difficulty of the reading in this class: "And since this IS Stony Brook - Most of you probably don't know how to read anyway!"
In regards to taking an easier class instead of this one: "You can go get your degree and work at 7-11 for the rest of your lives!"
Regarding office hours: "I will only have one hour of office hours per week here at Stony Brook since the Commie-Pinko-FeminiNazis that run this place won't let me smoke my cigars in my office! Feel free to call me at home anytime except 8PM on Wednesday because that's when 'Bones' is on the television..."
Regarding the teachings of SB professors: "If you've been at Stony Brook for a while now hopefully you've noticed all these left wing liberal kooks have brain washed you into believing this crap-trap!"
Regarding men in the 50's and 60's: "Ya know back then they all talked about the things that they had in common which was that they killed a lot of foreigners!"
Regarding war: "You either fight or bend over."
Regarding basketball: "I don't watch any sport that doesn't let white people play."
Regarding ultra-feminism and equality among women and men: "Ladies when you hear glass break downstairs in the middle of the night, do you really want to hear, 'No hunny, you go check! We're equals now remember?' because that's what's happening to you boys these days."
9/4 MVL 241 Memorable Quotes:
Regarding Soothsayers: "So the high priest of Delphi would snort some blow and make predictions!"
Before turning the lights out to show some transparencies: "Now when I turn the lights out keep your hands to yourself; and if you can't come up here."
Regarding sex: "Ya know it's not like God the Father had sex once with Mary, and that was through the ear! I mean come on how fun is that?!?!"
Regarding Stony Brook: "We still offer english here right?"
Regarding a nude sketch of a greek god: "Oh come on a couple of boobies isn't gonna scare you!"
Regarding prostitution in Ancient times: "Prostitution should be legal. You make a fortune!"
Regarding a crippled greek god: "You don't have great sex if you don't have knees. I mean... there's not much variety there."
Regarding sex: "There's NOTHING worse than boring sex."
Regarding "young" sex: Girl: "Are you in?!?!" Guy: "I'm finished!"
Regarding Cialis (the ED pill): "I understand from television if you take Cialis and you have an erection lasting more than four hours see a doctor - screw that go out!"
I'm sorry but this dude ROCKS. He keeps us laughing which is important at the 3rd unhappiest school in the nation.
So clearly MVL 241 Heroes and Warriors is fun. AST 105 The Solar System is way to easy but I feel obliged to go. It's a total freshmen class which is fine - I chose it but man is it boring...
MUS 305 Music of the Romantic Era is good but the professor rambles a bit. When we listen to music it's awesome.
HUR 141 The Age of Empire is alright. It really makes me want to go to Russia not gonna lie.
BIO 334 From Synapse to Circuit: Selforganization of the Brain is something that will be going over my head... It's a really cool sounding class but I'm going to bust my ass (which isn't a bad thing). The class is graded by two term papers which is fine but it's a bit unnerving.
We shall see what happens.
I worked from 8PM to 3AM after going to classes from 11AM to 4PM which ended up being awesome. It just confirmed my idea that I'm a night person.I was great all night and still ready to go when I got home around 3:30. Since I worked last night I had off today and enjoyed the afternoon to take care of things that I wouldn't have been able to get done with everyone else home.
Let's hope I make it through this semester in one piece. This is it... This is it... This is it... Come on degree!!!
