First off - I ate McDonalds for lunch today for the first time in a while and I have this strange desire to vomit. Yuck...
Today was the first cool day of late Summer. The clouds were out nearly all day and with a brisk wind the smell of approaching Fall was in the air. You could almost taste the warm apple cider after a game of touch football. You could almost feel the cool air warming up as you breathed in through your nose. The air is crisp and refreshing - quite the difference from yesterdays warm, muggy weather.
While walking through the woods this morning Buddy and I began to cause some leaves to crinkle and crackle as we trekked around the trees. They aren't abundant yet but there are a few that have fallen. Before we know it the entire ground will be covered in brown, red, and orange.
I'm on a new mission with this change of season. I want to lose weight. My goal is to be down to 190lbs come this time next year. I feel that I'll have much more energy and live a healthier life which will be critical with upcoming events in my life. Walking through the trails behind my house should help this goal of mine (yeah I know - shouldn't have ate the Micky D's for lunch!) and get closer to nature as well. Oh yeah the pup loves it too ;-)
Before we know it Fall will turn to Winter and then I'll get to go on another adventure - Skiing. That'll be another entry.
For now I'm going to enjoy this weather and relax (between reading for class of course).

Buddy enjoys himself...
Any tips for these post sunset photos? I had trouble getting a stable shot. My guess is tripod??

I am so not ready for winter...or even fall for that matter. I'm all about the summer! I wish it would never end. If you're serious about the diet, I did Nutri System about three years ago, lost 40 pounds and have kept it off with only an occasional need for "maintenance". It definately takes some getting used to, but it works. You have to be seriously dedicated for any diet to really work. It really comes down to a change of lifestyle, but with all your going through right now, school, ATC training, you may just be at the perfect time. Buddy is cool!

Ohh Summer's great don't get me wrong but I love to ski... Give me that sweet white stuff anytime!
I've come to the realization that with my family history it's in my best interest to lose as much weight as possible. I just looked into the Nutri System program and it seems like a good deal.
For now I'm going to see where not eating crap everyday and exercising regularly gets me. I've been walking three miles daily for the past week and according to some in the family it looks like I'm losing weight already. I weighed myself today to see where I am now and will check again in a week. Maybe this will be a new addition to my blog?!
