Post Chicago PEPC

Listening to - Portugal: The Man - Telling Tellers Tell Me

I had previously decided that after the PEPC I was going to surprise my sister out in Nebraska. I was already in Chicago - why not travel an extra 500 or so miles?

Southwest charged me a mere $61 to change my flight to go from Chicago to Islip to Chicago to Omaha. I arranged for my brother in law to pick me up at the airport and sure enough I surprised the you know what out of her.

My sister and I went out for our first legal drinks together both Thursday night and Friday night. It was a lot of fun because my sister and I are practically the same person, just ten years apart between us. It was great to hang out with my big sis and she still couldn't believe her little brother was going to be an air traffic controller.

I also of course spent some quality time with my nephews. I learned that when one says "push me higher!" on the swing set - even if he says higher there may be a too high point... I'm still an uncle in training how was I supposed to know he was going to jump off the swing because he got scared?! Heh - I still have a lot to learn clearly...

I happened to go during some prime time out there in Nebraska. It was Air Force week out there so there were plenty of aircraft related activities going on. Saturday was the first day of the Offutt Air Force Base open house and air show.

Here are the videos and some select pictures:

Traffic in Nebraska...

The sister and I

It was a great time out there in Nebraska. I really like it out there.

The ride home was care of American Airlines. Flew on an MD-83 for the first time in forever. I never knew how quiet those aircraft are if you're up towards the front. It was probably the quietest flight I've been on.

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed the photos...
