Listening to - Gustav Mahler - Symphony No.1
Alright aviation community... I need some help! If anyone knows of a good reference that I can actually cite that describes the basic functions of the turbofan and the turbojet engine it would be greatly appreciated!
I have the basic understanding down, but unfortunately that doesn't work for a research paper or presentation. Sadness...
I know some of you will come through!
Thanks in advance!

That is THE book for all things turbine. You can find it at just about any pilot shop or online, all over the place.
HowStuffWorks is always great, too:

I let you know if I stumble across anything else. What's the project?
Sorry, I just realized the first link got truncated. It's for the "Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual" by Greg Brown. Like I said, it's everywhere.
Hi Matt,
I am no pilot of gas turbine engine(s) (yet anyway), but I've been through it in the ATPL syllabus and I'll be happy to answer any question you have.
Although the questions will be based on a pure theoretical knowledge, and if you're looking for procedures and emergency situations you might want to steer well clear of me!
Check out my site, you'll find my e-mail address in the first post.
Have a wonderful day! :)

Thanks bud. I'll check that out. Maybe I'll be able to grab it at the local library or the college library.
I'm taking a "Sustainable Energy" course at school to satisfy those "well rounded student" requirements. I'm looking into biofuel use in jets/turboprops to cut down on pollution and the like. Gotta write a 24pg paper and do the standard 15min presentation.

If I have any questions for further detail I'll definitely ask ya. Unfortunately my professor said "Do not use personal interviews" you believe that??? Oh well some people are strange.
And I'll definitely check out the site ;-)
